Master Spatial Clearance Checklist
Before executing an ambitious furniture installation path, track these three critical safety variables to verify your physical site metrics match your calculations:
- Door Hinge Space Deductions: Always subtract 1.5 inches from door openings if the door cannot swing fully back past 180 degrees. The projecting hinge thickness compromises net entry pass width.
- Protrusion Component Trimming: Always account for detachable elements. Removing screw-in sofa legs or unzipping thick back cushions frequently shaves off 2–4 inches of absolute transport depth.
- Staircase Turning Banisters: Handrails on narrow stairwells significantly reduce path width. Measure directly from the innermost point of the handrail to the opposing wall rather than wall-to-wall.
